Great Sounding Music and Skin Possibilities with Xion
Being a big music fan I love to cover different audio software applications in search of the ultimate one. Today we take a look at Xion Audio Player which is a completely free, ultra light, easy skinnable, and high quality music player.
The download size of Xion is only 2.5MB and installation is a breeze.

While installing there will be an option to enable automatic checks for new builds.

When the player first start it definitely has a unique interface that can also be minimized.

One of the boasted features is the ability to skin the player with over 540 skins at the time of this writing. Just go to their site to browse the various skins and click one to download and install.

As soon as it installs, the player opens with the new skin.

Here is a full list of features supported by Xion from their website.

Xion Player is very light on system resources, play a plethora of audio files, enables hundreds of skins, and plays high quality audio. i like it… just download it and testing the various features….
i thing i didnt like is that it doesnt minimize to the task bar… but instead it goes to the tray….
over all is nice…
i love the autoplay feature
really handy when you have a specific playlist you want to play.
Thanks for the article, was wondering what music player you are using. Xion is great, I did notice a huge difference. But I would like a more customizable software, tried using Foobar. Something lightweight aswel.
How is the sound compare to AIMP2? So far AIMP2 sounds quality beats WinAmp, MediaMonkey, Windows Media Player, and even iTunes IMHO. AIMP2 also lighweight and skinable.
nice, also tried songbird. now what would be nice is one that can go online and update the tags on all my mp3s accurately and with minimum supervision.
Have you guys tried using GOM Player? I use that for music and video and like it's lightweight and basic feel.
Aimp2 FTW. I tried really hard to be satisfied with Xion but there's something that irks me in the way it handles playlists. Also, the sound quality on Aimp2 is stunning and Xion's not that much smaller.
Aimp2 has better visualizations which may not matter to you until you need it.
Tried it before and surprised by the quality of the sound coming out from this player. For simplicity, I choose Billy music player.
WINAMP forever…
This is a great player but my main complaint is that it's such a memory hog.
Can u show how to install the plugins? Thanks!
