Easily Change Audio File Formats with XRECODE
Have you ever ran into the problem of having music files that are not compatible with your portable or software music player? If so, today we will take a look at XRECODE, a powerful free utility for converting almost any format to another.
When installing the utility a feature that comes in very handy is adding it into the context menu to easily convert single audio files.

Let's look at converting an AAC file to mp3, simply Right-click the AAC file and go to Send To and XRECODE to open the file.
Next choose MP3 and then the Settings button.
Now choose your preferred bit rate settings for the file then OK.
This brings you back to the main screen to click Start and begin the conversion.
If you have a dual-core CPU it features Parallel Processing for fast conversions of multiple files at once. I was able to convert 7 AAC files to MP3 in under a minute and a half.
Take a look at a few of the file conversion possibilities, there is a complete list on their site.
M4A to WMA, M4A to OGG, M4A to WAV, M4A to FLAC, M4A to APE, M4A to AAC
FLAC to MP3, FLAC to WMA, FLAC to OGG, FLAC to WAV, FLAC to APE, FLAC to AAC
RealAudio (ra,rm) to WMA, RealAudio (ra,rm) to OGG, RealAudio (ra,rm) to WAV
OGG to MP3, OGG to WMA, OGG to WAV, OGG to FLAC, OGG to APE, OGG to AAC
XRECODE offers a lot of conversion possibilities and everything converts fast with great quality too. Another thing you can do is open a video file and convert the audio to any format offered. Although it is not shown on the above list, I was able to convert a CD (.cda) files to mp3 and FLAC. Of course you don't have the option of downloading album information from the Gracenote database or other service. The best part is this utility is 100% free and offers basically every audio conversion possible.

This is great! It works like a charm and is very fast. Thanks so much- I'd been looking for something like this for quite awhile.
There are bunch of good programs for converting audio types, Format factory is my fav, and quick media converter is another one.
Very nice program. I can see why something this small, fast, and powerful would be useful!

also, this problem persists with dbpower converter too.
