How To Make Sure Word Prints Document Backgrounds
It can be frustrating when custom backgrounds do not print out with a Word document. According the the Microsoft Office Website, user created backgrounds do not print by default, so today we will show you how to make sure Word prints document backgrounds.
So you have the document all created and have decided which background color you would like to include. Now we just need to go in and make a few option changes to get the background color to print out.

Click on the Office Button and go to Word Options. Then go to Display and scroll down to Printing Options and place a check next to “Print background colors and images” and click OK.

Select this anytime you want the background color or image to print with the document. FYI … this will apply to all documents in Word 2007 so make sure and uncheck this option for future documents that you don’t want to have a background.

I need to print out a wysiwyg version if at all possible, but also would like to know if a commercial printing company would be able to convert my design for printing with my currrent settings (On the screen it is just as I want it to be - even that took a lot of fiddling around with format-backgrounds).
I have tried reproducing the backgrounds in photoshop elements andin gimp but ten have difficulty transferring text over. Spent days doing this - at my wits end, please help
Would a second-hand Applemac (ie an older cheaper version) allow me to design artwork with backgrounds more readily?
I have been unable to print/pdf save the background Fill Effects without it going into tile mode? I've tried it with three different computers. Two with Word 2007 and one with Word 2003.
Has anyone tried this and found a fix? Thank you.
