Friday Fun: Track Mania Nations Forever

We finally made it to another Friday … TGIF and time for some fun!  Today we have a fun game that is completely free and great quality.  Track Mania Nations Forever is an arcade style racing game for Windows you can play online.

You first start out by creating an account then choose to play solo or online.  There are 65 tracks in solo mode most of which need to be unlocked by performing well in the starting levels.  After the race you can check out the replay to see where improvements can be made.

Choose Track

Before a race the pans the course so you get an overview of the track to help plan a strategy.

Overview of Track

The keyboard controls for the race are quite simple, just use the arrow keys or hit enter if you want to re-spawn.  Then you can hit F1-F3 for different views while racing.  I was able to get a game controller working as well but the keyboard is a lot more responsive.

TrackMania Nations Forever also includes online play, painting customized cars, and an editor to create your own track.  The graphics are nice and game play is very smooth, not bad for a free game!  The game is a 500MB download, free registration is required, and multiple languages are supported.  This will work on Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and Windows 7.
