CDBurnerXP
For the regular readers of my Blog you know that I am a huge music enthusiast. After my Rant Against iTunes I tried out several players before finally sticking with Spider Player as my primary music listening application. The unfortunate thing about Spider is it doesn't include a burning feature. I have added it to the Wishlist in their forum and hopefully in the future that feature will be added. So for the time being I am using a program that a buddy of mine suggested called CDBurnerXP.
This is a nice lightweight (2.24MB) burner that does a very nice job. Here is the basic interface with an Explorer type feel. CDBurnerXP will also burn ISO files, convert bin files to ISO and has a cover printing feature as well.
Also included is a simple Audio Player.
To burn a disc simply choose the tracks or album from your music directory and add them to the table. From there you can move them in different orders or delete certain tracks and add others … when finished creating the list you want just hit the Burn button. You well get the following options to fine tune the disc.
You will be able to monitor the disc burning progress.
When the process has completed you get a quick report.
CDBurnerXP is completely free and also works with Vista!
Thanks, i tried this software and really enjoyed it. It is a great alternative for nero which i previously used. The benefits for me where the bar which shows the memory used and capacity etc and the simple interface. It is so much easier to burn Dvds and Cds now. One improvement they should however make, is to add more features to the mini media player. For example if only you can listen to more than 1 song like make a playlist to listen to, and they should add a Next Song button.
Overall i rate the software, 9/10. Nice work mysticgeek and continue finding great software for your readers. THanks

I agree the player is nothing special at all … lol … but it is a good program overall for sure!
