Geeky Notepad for Practically Free
The other day on StumbleUpon (I apologize for not having the link, but if someone can supply it, I'll be happy to put it here) a floppy disk notebook on sale for about ten dollars (USD). I decided to attempt this myself, and am actually quite happy with the result. You may want to make one. All I used were too floppies and a small stack of post it notes. I then drilled through the stack and put keyrings through the holes. I will warn that no two keyrings seem to be the same size.
Does anyone else have any quick and cheap geeky creations? I'd love to see them!

That's just great… love it!
cool.. thanks for this..
Brilliant as always, Jake. I'm going to make one of these.
I love it, yes i do have one Duct Tape roses.
cool. i finally found something useful to do with my old floppy disks… i wonder if there's a post-it as big as the 5 1/2 floppy disks my dad still has…
This has to be one of the best geeky things yet! Nice work!
@pipo: Actually, found from StumbleUpon, the original floppy disk notebook is in fact a 5 1/2″ floppy disk notebook. As near as I can tell though, neither of these two notebooks (the original or the one that Jake made) are using Post-Its because you have to drill through the disks to put in the binding rings (and thus when you try to pull a sheet off, you'd rip the sticky part of a Post-It note off).

I wonder if one could make a CD notebook by drilling through CDs or if they would just shatter (or splinter).

I think the notebook idea is just kinky enough to be cute.
That's cool. Now I just need to dig out the old floppy disks…but do I really want to use my old Commodore 64 games to make it?
