The Genuine Advantage of Surveys
While attempting to download some patches to make my system more reliable, I encountered the Windows Genuine Advantage Survey after spending far too long to get my system to validate. Every time I click that validation required button, IE hangs up for a while or sends me back to the same screen… extremely annoying.
At the end, I finally had a chance to explain my feelings to Microsoft directly… and I had to laugh at some of the questions in the survey, so I decided to share them here.
Will I stop using them? I don't use them now!
They literally suggested a lottery ticket… hopefully I can win the lottery so I can afford Vista Ultimate!
Which brings me to another point: I feel that we should have free copies of Windows Vista, considering that this is one of the most popular destinations for Vista tips and help. In fact, an MSDN license would be nice.
Overall, I really like Vista… it's been a very solid OS that runs a lot faster on my very beefy machines. I just wouldn't recommend it for the average user quite yet.

Have to agree with you 100%.I really do with the techies would stop whining and defending Vista and approach it for what it is. NEW, needs WORK DONE ON IT, terrible that so much hardware is required to get something that ends up runnign slower than the original XP on inferior equipment.
I just hope that once the first year or so goes by that we see a dramatic increase in the drivers beinf offered and the overal performace of the o.s. in general.
My GUT FEELING though is…. MS really has rushed this out… they are hiding the anger out there… and people really should be told to hang fire until such times it IS the good OS it SHOUDL BE!
